Clubs

At Lukfata, we encourage our students to get involved with extra-curricular activities to explore and develop their interests and talents outside the classroom. We want all of our students to succeed, and we believe that offering a variety of opportunities will enable them to find success in and out of the classroom. We offer a variety of special interest clubs, community service organizations, and academic teams. At Lukfata, you’ll find something for everyone! We hold spelling and geography bees, participate in national organizations, and meet together with other like-minded students in these areas:

8th Grade Class

The 8th grade year is a busy one with many activities and much to learn. The sponsor works hard to organize and plan events, one being the end of year class trip where students create lasting friendships and memories. For more information, contact our sponsor, Jessica Sundberg.

Cheer Leading

The Falcon cheer leading team keeps school spirit alive in the halls and plays a key role in engaging our fans as they encourage our players out on the field or on the courts. Our cheer team members shine as athletes and leaders as they foster an environment swelling with school pride. Go! Fight! Win! For more information, please contact our club sponsor, Kim Stone.

Falcons of Faith

Falcons of Faith is a student-led Christian-based club open to all 5th through 8th-grade students. Students meet once a week to pray, discuss challenges they're facing, and present student-created lessons. They also do several projects throughout the year to help our school and community. For more information, please contact our club sponsor, Julie Parnell.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

Fellowship of Christian Athletes challenges coaches and athletes to use athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in the world. Our FCA chapter focuses on serving our community and encouraging our students to actively live their faith by being a good example through sports. For more information, please contact our club sponsor, Coach Brumley.

Lukfata 4-H

Head, Heart, Hands, and Health are the four H's in 4-H, and they are the four values members work on through fun and engaging programs. 4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults. County 4-H Club membership is open to all youth ages 9–19 living in McCurtain County or enrolled in a McCurtain County School.

Youth interested in joining 4-H may complete the 4-H enrollment card and return it to their local 4-H leader, the OSU Extension Center in the courthouse, or fax it to (580) 286-7688.

Native American Indian Club (NAIC)

The purpose of the Native American Indian Club is to share the rich history and heritage of Native American culture with our student body and community. We specifically highlight those tribes originating or currently represented in Oklahoma. For more information, please contact our club sponsor, Teresa McKinney.

Quiz Bowl

Scientia est potentia! It is true that 'knowledge is power.' In this club, academic teams of students compete against other schools to show what they know as they have fun learning. For more information, contact the sponsor, Greg Curtis

Student Council (STUCO)

The purpose of Lukfata’s STUCO is to encourage our students to develop leadership skills and give them a working example of the executive branch of government. Through student council, student leaders organize community outreaches, fundraisers, and other events, and they improve school spirit by motivating their peers to participate in scheduled activities. For more information, please contact our club sponsor, Jessica Sundberg.

Yearbook

Yearbook develops student interests and talents in the creative and technical arts by giving them the opportunity to plan, design, edit, and sell our school’s yearbook. We teach students about publishing, photography, and graphic design using programs like Microsoft Publisher, Photoshop, and more. For more information, please contact our club sponsor, Cheryl Smith.
