Programs and Services
At Lukfata Public School, we pride ourselves in offering our students the best education possible. With 100% of our teachers and staff designated as highly qualified and a well-rounded curriculum that focuses on character development, we are laying a foundation of excellence for our students to build upon.
Our curriculum follows state-initiated C3 standards that prepare students for college, career, and citizenry, while our highly-qualified teachers work diligently to provide a caring, family-oriented environment for our students. We are proud of our school and know that our hard work today is enabling us to “soar with excellence” into tomorrow!
All-Day Pre-K and Kindergarten
Early childhood students at Lukfata are equipped to step into learning through our full-day pre-k and kindergarten programs. By offering all-day options at this level, students receive the instruction and experiences necessary to prepare them for academic success. Our sustainable pace challenges children without overwhelming them and gives parents an alternative to pricey, overcrowded day cares.
Fine Arts and Technology
As a Lukfata Falcon, we introduce your child to a variety of fine and technical arts throughout our curriculum. We integrate technology into every area of our school as well as keep a 21st Century media center at our students’ disposal for research, school projects, and enjoyment. Music and art classes round out our curriculum and provide our students with multiple ways to find and develop their talents.
For more information about how we infuse technology into the curriculum, please contact our director, Sherri Farley.
At Lukfata, we believe all children can succeed! As part of our commitment to help all of our students reach their potential, we offer a top-notch special education program to identify, diagnose, and serve those students with special educational needs, disabilities, and/or giftedness.
Our school freely and appropriately educates students identified with special needs/abilities in the least restrictive environment suitable for their needs according to the federal IDEA Act.
For more information about our special education program, please contact our director, Amanda Willis.
Gifted and Talented
We test qualifying students for our gifted and talented program in the second, fourth, and sixth grades. In order to receive services (including advanced placement, accelerated curriculum goals, and independent study), a student must score a 115 or higher on the Otis Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT). Once we identify a student, parents will receive notification asking to authorize service for them. For more information, contact Candi Trent.
Title VII: Indian Programs
Lukfata Public School recognizes the importance of family identity and cultural heritage in the context of education. To meet the needs of our diverse population, Lukfata provides quality educational opportunities from early childhood through 8th grade for our Native American students in accordance with each tribe’s unique cultural and economic need. Our school is pleased to offer several federally-funded programs in this context. For more information, please contact Teresa McKinney.
Advanced Placement Courses
For our high-performing junior high students, we offer advanced placement courses to stimulate them academically and encourage them to never quit learning. At this level, we offer AP algebra and physical science.
