Solar Eclipse 2017

Before the eclipse, students studied solar eclipses and the precautions required in order to view them safely. 4th graders spray painted solar eclipse t-shirts and made special masks for their viewing glasses. The 7th-8th grade S.T.E.M. class also spray painted eclipse t-shirts. 7th graders also made pin hole viewers. For this special day we had a space themed lunch of cheese stars and moons with our sandwiches, Sunchips, and a funsize Milky Way candy bar. We viewed the eclipse from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Many parents and community members joined students for the viewing. Those that did not go outside went to the gym and watched a live stream from NASA. It was an awesome and unique experience that instilled a wonderful sense of community.

SchoolMessenger Update

Parents, keeping you notified is our top priority and one way we do this is through SchoolMessenger. SchoolMessenger has a new app for families and we also offer the option to receive important texts through SchoolMessenger.

The SchoolMessenger app for families is the next generation of the app that has been known as SchoolMessenger InfoCenter. The updated app has a new feature, teacher-initiated messaging. This allows you to use the app to communicate with your child’s teacher, individually or in groups, and to exchange important documents and files all within the app. For more information please see our SchoolMessenger App for Families flyer or access the flyer from the Parents Quick Links on our Home page.

Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages straight to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts and more. For opt in instructions and information about this valuable service, please see our SMS Text Opt In flyer or the Parents Quick Links on our Home page.
